The primary role of the BIM Modeler is to utilize Revit software to accurately create and develop a 3d model of electrical raceways, fittings and supports extracted from 2d drawings. The BIM Modeler will work with other trades to detect clashes in proposed routing prior to installation utilizing Navisworks and other software.

Essential Functions

  1. Minimum three years AutoCAD and REVIT experience with advance training/experience in current REVIT software;
  2. Ability to demonstrate a basic understanding of accurate drafting methods, layering, X-References, dimensioning, model space/paper space, viewports and scaling;
  3. Ability to demonstrate using basic Revit MEP tools such as the Project Browser, Properties, Type Selector, Conduit and Cable Tray, and inserting a verity of family types. An understanding of creating families and manipulating of parameters and schedules is a plus;
  4. Capable of taking the lead in importing different trade files and performing collision control services;
  5. Update models to reflect as-built conditions
  6. Experience in using Microsoft Office products;
  7. Willingness to learn, have strong organizational and analytical skills;
  8. Self-motivated; take pride in work and accept responsibility for his/her professionalism;
  9. Excellent collaborative and organizational skills with the ability to communicate effectively.

Reports directly to the Division Manager.


Work Environment

The noise level is moderate and work generally is in an office setting and possible outside working conditions. Less frequent exposure to high noise levels associates with construction equipment.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Full-Time 40 hours. May require more than 40 hours per week depending on project needs and deadline objectives. Monday through Friday and occasional work on weekends depending on time sensitive deadlines of projects.



Frequent travel to project site location may be required and to other business office locations.


Education and Experience

Minimum three years AutoCAD and REVIT experience with advance training/experience in current AutoCAD

software; Bachelor's or AA college degree in CAD or drafting studies is preferred;
