JOB TITLE:

Care Giver- In-Home Live-In (Nursing Assistant)

 

 

DEPARTMENT: 

Healthcare Facility

 

 

REPORTS TO:

Registered Nurse (RN)

 

 

JOB SUMMARY:

 

                                            

The nursing assistant fulfills basic quality-of-life needs for patients of any age, ethnicity or gender in residential nursing care facilities or outpatient clinics. Since nursing assistants have daily contact with patients, they are gatherers of vital information about the patients’ conditions, which they must then transmit to their supervisors.

  • Provide resident care under the supervision of the Program Director
  • Assist residents with daily activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, changing of bed linens, and incontinence care
  • Facilitate programs to engage memory care residents
  • Maintain a positive and homelike environment for residents while ensuring they feel safe and purposeful

  • Must be a CNA
  • Minimum of one-year CNA experience required
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Flexibility with schedule
  • Must enjoy working with the senior population
  • Desire to help people and show compassion for patients
  • Ability to adapt to change quickly, strong knowledge base relative to surgery procedures and management of the surgical patient.
  • Understands principles of aseptic technique and their implementation
  • Ability to care for adult to geriatric patients
  • Basic knowledge of continuous quality improvement ideology 
  • Must have reliable transportation
